Once you've finished all payroll processing for the current tax year, before you process your payroll year end, you need to let HMRC know which full payment submission (FPS) is the last one in the current tax year.

πŸ“ŒNote: You can only send one FPS per PAYE reference. If you have multiple payrolls with the same PAYE reference, you need to process and submit your FPS for each payroll as normal then, when you process the final payroll, flag that one as the final FPS.

To submit the final FPS of the tax year, follow the steps below.

  1. Click Process Pay, and then click Process Period Pay.

  2. Select the relevant pay frequency, and click Continue.

  3. Process the payroll as normal, then click Submit to HMRC.

  4. When the prompt appears asking if this is the final period, click Yes.

  5. If relevant, select a late reporting reason.

  6. If required, to send a test submission, click Test.

  7. To send the live submission to HMRC, click Submit.
