Error: 'Internal Server Error'

When trying to save the error message 'Sorry, an unexpected error has occurred, Internal server error' appears.

The error message, Internal Server Error, is most commonly caused by an invalid character in the name field. To correct this, follow the relevant section below.

Employee record

The employee record name fields can only contain alphanumeric characters; spaces and dashes can often cause issues when trying to produce reports. If you know the employee, you can correct it using the steps below.

  1. Click Employees, and then click Records.

  2. Find the required employee and click View Record .

  3. Click More, and then click Rename Employee Code.

  4. Make the required changes, and then click the Save icon.


Nominal journal

If you see the error message when producing the nominal, it is caused by a pay element with an invalid character. To correct this, review the steps in the section below.


Pay element

Pay element codes can only contain alphanumeric characters, spaces, -, %, Β£, $, *, @, < and > up to a maximum of 20 characters. To change a pay element name, follow the steps below.

  1. Click System, and then click Pay Elements.

  2. Find and select the required pay element.

  3. Click More, and then click Rename.

  4. Make the required changes, and then click the Save icon.
